Best Southern Chicken Batter
Ingredients Southern fried chicken batter:2 eggs, beaten
1 cup milk
2 teaspoons paprika
1/2 teaspoon poultry seasoning
4 teaspoons garlic salt
2 teaspoons black pepper
2 cups all-purpose flour.

Instructions:1 Beat egg and milk in a bowl.

  1. Mix flour, garlic salt, pepper, poultry seasoning and paprika in a large plastic bag.
  2. Place chicken in bag, seal and shake to coat.
  3. dip flour-coated chicken in egg mixture and again in flour mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a skillet to 365 degrees F. Brown chicken on all sides in hot oil.
  5. reduce heat to medium-low and let chicken cook for another half-hour or until cooked through.
  6. drain on paper towels and serve.
